The ski resort of Chamrousse is busy with the Grenobloise every winter but in the summer it is a quiet road and it makes a lovely cycling route. There are two main route options to climb to the ski resort, both on large roads. The Col Luitel is famous for being the toughest climb around Grenoble. Similar in gradient and climb to Alpe d'Huez, the poor road surface when climbing from Sechilienne make this a harder route to take to Chamrousse.
